Side Kick or Partner - Peter Bishop

Am I the only fan who wishes that Peter would become less of a side kick and more of a equal partner - both in the case solving and in the story line? Now that Walter has adjusted somewhat to the outside world, Peter just seems to sit in the lab and make quips. This character has so much potential - between the shady past with mobsters and being from the alternate universe. It just seems like a waste to have him just hanging out in the wings . . . .Agree? Disagree? 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Yesterday's episode was odd, because it moved Peter backwards, it seemed. From A New Day in an Old town onwards, Peter had been taking more of a central role deservedly, delightfully. I really noticed he was in the background last night. It was an interesting episode, but I missed having more Peter and I hope that's the lasts time we see him relegated to the back like that!!

Well, the writers were full of it when they say Peter will take a more active role. Peter was only taking charge when Olivia was in the hospital and now she is better, Peter is again put in the back. Do you find this valuable?

I think that Peter will be firmly entrenched as a partner role by the end of the season. We are going to have a nice 'twist' point where it's evident that he is playing a bit low key on purpose. He is (and will) be able to step right up and be large and in charge when circumstances warrant it. He just chooses not to if it's not necessary.
We also still have his arc of his discovery that he is actually one of 'them.'

Or does he already know? Hmmmmmm

Yes, I do agree that he will be entrenched as a full partner role by the end of the season. Every single interview I've seen with Abrams, Pinkner, Orsi, all say the same thing: he is becoming fully part of the team this season, beginning with his words to Broyle at the end of A New Day in an Old Town. i was thinking over Peter's character today on the bus, and I wondered how we would see his progression this season; last season there was clear progression - marked by The Arrival when he decides to stay and investigate until he understands everything (aka the OBserver and mind reading in that episode), and slowly becoming more Olivia's partner through the episodes. This season they know each other better, and I'm curious and interested to see how Peter will be in charge, and what direction he will take them in. It was a quiet episode last week, but tonight, Peter holds a gun!! lol

I agree that he has and will step right up to be in charge. I think your point that he is playing it low key on purpose interesting. Do you have any ideas on the twist? I don't mean when he finds out what Walter did; I mean, why Peter now is choosing to stay low-key.
