Well, last week I had asked for them to use more X Files actors since they were in Canada now...and they have not disappointed. Lots of more little X Files references as well. Good good stuff guys!

Total fluff episode. With one exception, the character Sam Weiss at the bowling alley. Intimate knowledge of Olivia's condition and referred to by Nina Sharp. Olivia's Super Hearing is only the beginning. Assumption? William Bell gave her sensitive information and then intentionally blocked those memories.

It did look like a fluff episode...not much attention really drawn to story about mutant boy. The attention seemed to be drawn more toward Olive's storyand her new found powers. I am not really sure that was the way to go with telling this episode. I think they should have emphised the story with mutant boy more and been a little more obscure with Olive's story for now. But I will say the characters did seem to be more themselves in this episode 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

They did a moleman episode and it seemed like they were going through the motions a bit. Get a case, work on it, and solve it. I can't remember how they figured it was a scorpion-mole-rat-man baby, but that could just be me. I guess I wouldn't rate it as one of the best episodes they've done. It could have been so epic. I do want to know why impostor Charlie was clutching his stomach when he went to talk to the mirror/typewriter thing. I could have done without Olivia's superpowers for now, but I guess they're trying to make it to the fourth episode (BELLY!!!) Do you find this valuable? |

I enjoyed the show. I like the fact that it could stand on its own and wasn't too overall-arc centered. That's why I grew disinterested in the X-Files toward the end.The season opener? End some of last-season's cliff hangers, introduce some new ones... get people talking about it. Week #2, more people tune in to the show because of hearing others talk about it... You need a good "jumping on" point here. Just my humble opinion. Can't see where they're headed with the super-hearing. Does it turn on & off? (Why didn't she hear the scorpion mole boy creeping up on her?) It was nice to see the freak genetic aspect back... I'm sure it will feed into the overall arc somehow down the line. In response to 4JoLT2's question about imposter Charlies obvious pain. Remember that before Charlie was subdued by the shapeshifter, we hear him get off at least 4 shots. My theory is that the shapeshifter is not as invulnerable as many make him out to be.

"So, did he absorb the wounds when he took on Charlie's looks?"I was thinking along the same lines, but then he would have taken on the broken neck and crushed trachea of his previous victims. I do think DynamicOne's got a point. He can get into car crashes, jump out of windows, take gun shots, but there's something that give him a stomach ache. I was thinking it might be a side effect of the multiple transfers or just staying in one form for too long, or something like that. Do you find this valuable? |

"What specifically?"Well, 2 actors were from old school X Files episodes: Dod Calm and f. emasculata. The mutant boy in the underground cavern (complete with protective family member living in the house above it) was a season 8 or 9 episode, Dogget got dragged under with it (forget the title of that one off hand) The blue toxin stuff was a bit black oil like. The shot of Olivia getting attacked by the mutant boy was like the shot from the X Files movie. They cribbed quite a bit from several old x files the more I think about it. But it's kind of like listening to an old song, still good even if another band is playing it.I was also glad they addressed Olivia still being gimpy and bruised since I poked a bit of fun at them by not having her face be more banged up after flying through a windshield. Time would seem to be an enemy to that much abuse on a body. Maybe there's a drug that they need to cope with it... like organ transplant patients receive? Do you find this valuable? |

I do want to know why impostor Charlie was clutching his stomach when he went to talk to the mirror/typewriter thing.I believe both Walter & Peter are trying to help figure out why Olivia disappeared for an hour. Walter is doing it through his experiment with the frog/toy car in his lab, where Peter's approach is going through FBI database for similar cases where people disappear into thin air. That is how he came across the missing person case in Pennsylvania. He even ask Broyles permission to go and investigate. I find a lot of interesting analogies in this episode: 1. Mutant scorpion-mole-man: Walter rumbling that we are all mutants: Peter is not the real Peter, Charlie not the real Charlie and Olivia now gradually becoming this superpower girl .... all mutants. 2. An empty coffin where the boy is no longer in his grave, and Peter is also alive and not in "his" grave. 3. Hughes wanting a son so bad that he would do anything, including genetically altering the fetus. Walter wanting his son so bad that he would cross over to another universe. Both have to live with the consequences of their actions .... 4. Charlie VS Sam Weiss - both want to help Olivia regain her memory .... friends, foes or both foes?! 5. It is bitter sweet to see Peter developing his long lost relationship with Walter .... it will just hurt more when he finally realizes that Walter has snatched him from his real parents. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. "Also had some bits of Home in it. The buried baby that's not quite right etc..."Well the father/son theme and the flashes to Walter & Peter were clearly evident. Foreshadowing anything...? The best quote of the episode was "I’m planning to urinate in 23 minutes." Ha ha ha. Do you find this valuable? |
