Green eyes...
May 30 2009, 2:55 PM EDT
Something about the green eyes got me thinking. The 'Evil Eye' ----->Paradox's ----> Socrates ----> Ethics -----> No one desires evil intentionally. Perhaps those with the green eyes are indicative of these things. Perhaps the green eyes are related to the 'evil eye' theorem that so many of yesteryear believe in...that because these people were different they must be evil, because they got more attention for their eye color, they were thought to be evil, and that they invoked 'envy' . Perhaps the green eyes are native of this alternate reality, but perhaps it's better than the 'current' one that the team is a part of. Perhaps the blue eyes are the envious ones. (It's just a theorem I've been milling about...) Remember all the talk about Robert Jones wanting to have the 'attention' of William Bell? I wonder if this all started by Walter and Bell being in competition to some degree, way back when. Perhaps because of the green eyed 'evil eye' jealousy thing, this all sprang about. The seperations...etc. I think Walter is going to turn out to be the character we will hate in the long run. He will become so endeared to us that we will sympathize with him and forgive him because we'll feel sorry for him. I think all of this has been based upon jealousy. Think about it... if your children were 'envied' because of special ability --- think of the rift you'd create amongst those without special ability. Just some rambling thoughts... 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

"Something about the green eyes got me thinking.I like the idea that the writers are building a sympathy for a character just to make it harder for us to hate him in the long run ! 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I just can't shake the feeling that Walter knows alot more, but someone his memory has been 'wiped' or his conciousness 'robbed' ---- probably by Bell. There's just this gut feeling about it. I love Walter, but even as Peter has pointed out, he's done some terribly unethical things in the past with his experimenting. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Another option would be that Walter did this to himself. He deliberatly wiped his memory and hid stuff to make sure even he would'nt be able to pursue his own work. Just an idea... 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Another option would be that Walter did this to himself.Yes I've pondered that as well --- which is a love hate relationship again. Well --- only time will tell. I sure do miss the show right about now though --- don't know how I'll wait until Sept! Do you find this valuable? |

Well the 'green eye' theory is interesting... tho i would look at it in that age old saying of the "green eye of envy/or jelousy'.. If we look at movies fom the past, the lighter eye seems to be the clearer eye. The eye that is capable of brilliant power. For enstance (..dont laugh) - "Big Trouble in Little China" - The green eyes were rare in chinese girls, therefore were saught out for the ritual bc of their power. And eventhough Kim Katralls character wasnt chinese, her green eyes were just as powerful "Lord of the Rings" - Even though it wasnt really discussed, the blue eyes of this movie were given to the most powerful characters. Frodo has the blue eyes, but Sam's were not as vibrant. But then again, this is a very loose explaination with no real extended research.. ;P ..just a thought tho. Which leads me to believe that Dunham is probably one of the most powerful ppl on the show. William knew this & wanted her to channel her power. Thus making me believe that William will appear again, even after death. He too was very powerful and had blue eyes.. On that note, John has blue eyes too, right? Cant really remember, but perhaps this is why he keeps appearing to Dunham? He is quite powerful as well.. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I am not laughing: I did a reference to "Big trouble in little China" too in another green eyes topic.I found another one: Michael Jackson's Thriller. His eyes turn to a bright yellow when he turns to a Wherewolf. Do you remember the very last scene of the video ? As for John's eyes, they were blue, but I don't think this is why Olivia saw him after his death. Walter made a good assumption that when she was in the tank the first time, they shared consciousness and remnants of his thoughts were kept in her mind. Althought this brings a great question about her thoughts beeing transfered to John's mind (who's linked to a MD computer...), I don't think it is linked to eye color. Do you find this valuable? |

But what i still cant seem to figure out is how was he able to see her conscious self while she visited the memory of them eating at their favorite restaurant. do you remember that? her real self in the memory got up & went to the restroom while her conscious self watched him. He looked up directly at her, straight into her eyes and smiled slightly.. I guess my theory in general was referencing that a lighter eye allows you to manipulate the secrets of the psychic planes more easily than a darker eye.. because he has a lighter eye, it is easier, or perhaps it can more often be accomplished for him to keep visiting Dunham's psyche. Understand? It's a bit difficult for me to explain sometimes.. >_<;; Do you find this valuable? |

I understand... hmmm.... I ... think... ;-)I'm not sure the eye color thing is valid when Olivia is visiting John's memory (kind of like when Neo and his friends are in The Matrix... it's not "real"). But it's worth keeping an open eye (blue or green) for it ! Do you find this valuable? |
