Has anyone else noticed that in a lot of the lab notes (I'm not sure about all) there's a grainy gray photo with part of a red circle in it? I bet that if we took just those and put them together, we'd see something cool. Do you find this valuable?

good thinkin, im part way thru putting them together. The two from lab notes 14 and 15 fit together yet the one from notes 16 doesn't have a matching side. I'll post ma findings in the pics section soon tho.

Hey guys, did you notice that it seemed like walter has two personalities? one that sounds like the walter we all know and love, and then a sterner more scientific voice that types in Bold.

It has popped up in his other notes, but it is really clear here. the tone of the note complety changes.

Does this have something to do with the 'Other walter" we saw in "The Equation." When walter was in St. mary's.

I have speculated that it was either him manifesting an illusion of a personality he developed, being locked away for 17 years, and hopped up on Meds, or it could be An "alternate" Reality version of himself. He did refer in one of his notes of "Another self."

There seems to be some underlying theme with this, and with The ZFT manuscript, mentioning "Other beings much like us but different, from other dimension." Brings into context the Theory of Quantim Physics, in which they state that once you make a jump in time and Space - you create a 'Alternate Reality". Every choice you makes, creates a second reality where you made the opposite choice.

i.e. Today i woke up and had to decide if i should wear a red shirt or blue. as soon as i decide on a red shirt, i create an alternate reality/universe where i wore the blue instead.

Later in the day i have to decide if i'm gonna eat a hamburger or a chicken sandwich, the same thing happens.

Could Walter have created an Alternate reality when he created the 'Dis -ray." and tested it out? That would explain why he dissasemble the "Dis - Ray" and hid it in Various Bank vaults, why he knew of the existance of the Observers he wrote about in the ZFT manual, and why the "Observer" was for a lack of a better word "observing' him and peter when their car crashed in to the frozen lake.

What do you guys think?

Oh gawd, quantum physics >.< That stuff makes my head hurt. I read somewhere that Shroedinger (he of the cat) once said something about how if a nameless neutral observer watches long enough, they'll develop a personality. I'll look for the full quote, but the part about an observer developing a personality definately sounds interesting. Do you find this valuable?

That is interesting! Do you have that quote? i'ld love to read that. I think The Observer we have seen might have developed a bit of a personality, he was very specific about the sandwich he ate in that diner.

That is a fantastic connection. I think I will do a bit of research on that one. Good work freyathedark. Can't wait to see the full quote so we can see how much of it applies to our Observer.

Did anyone notice that the lab notes from "Ability", "Inner Child" and "Unleashed" were written with the same typewriter that the ZFT manuscript was written with. You can tell by the misaligned lower case 'y'.

Did Walter have something to do with the manuscript? Was he possibly working with ZFT before his incarceration? I find it hard to believe it to be a coincidence.

Yup, clear evidence that the same type writer was used to type both. the Question is Did walter write it or william Bell?

think it was Walter.

I watched that scene very closely, (when Walter pulls out the typewriter and uses it) and he this strange expression on his face. I wonder if it's because he remembered something horrible? I think it's possible, because up until "Ability" he was using a different typewriter. Something must have jogged his memory for him to go and pull THAT typewriter out and use it.

Something Peter said in Inner Child made me think. When he was showing the g.i. joe guy to the child, he said I remember the scar being on the other side..... What if he was moved back and forth, between worlds, along with Walter? The alternate reality might be different enough that Peter noticed small irregularities that will be surfacing from time to time. It could account for the mental break that Walter suffered. Too much switching, too many changes too fast and none stop...? He remembers parts from both worlds.....? Just a thought as I drink my tea....

[EDIT: Oooh! or... in Safe, Peter asked where Walter got all the toys. Walter said they are your toys son and Peter said they aren't mine. Walter replied, '..then they must be mine...'. Did Walter go back and forth, bringing little trinkets with him?

Well, good news and bad news: I found the quote, but I don't think it was based off of anything Shcroedinger actually said. The bad news is that my computer crashed badly, so I won't be able to type the quote up until Monday at the earliest. I'd do it now, but I don't have the book with me. Sorry ^^;

Got to a computer and I have the book! I might have to post it in two parts if I go over the character limit ^^
"Me, Heisenberg, all of us, we always talked about the 'observer.' Never hit us that if that observer was allowed to stay around long enough, he'd start developing a personality. Nothing hangs around without developing a personality. Nothing." - 'Erwin Schroedinger', Schroedinger's Ball
