Fringe / Lost Crossover
Dec 8 2008, 6:08 PM EST
Did anyone else notice this - in ep.9 - The Dreamscape? When Ageny Dunham is searching the house of the guy that jumps through the window of the Massive Dynamic building, she finds an airplane ticket. Notice the name of the airline company? Oceanic! Also, Lance Reddick (aka Phillip Broyles) is in both series. Coincidence? How cool would it be for both series to be resolved together in the same finale! 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

Well, a person like me noticed those connections right away. Although I don't think both episodes could be concluded in the same finale. I have been keeping track of the connections between the shows, and there are a lot of them. But as of now, the Oceanic connection has been my favourite.

Jabrams loves to crossover his shows. I only saw the first few eps of Lost, but i'm the biggest ALIAS freak. The repetition of the number 47 is both in Lost and Fringe, but comes from ALIAS. The crack Olivia makes about criminals not having dental is a lot funnier if you've seen the first eps of ALIAS. However, I've yet to see a Felicity reference in any show Even the name character Nadia in Lost is introduced with the same words as the Nadia character in ALIAS Do you find this valuable? |

"What are some of the other Lost/Fringe Crossovers, other than Lance Reddick & the Oceanic ticket?"There are several minor crossovers, that are not significant (things like character names, themes, etc.). I started a page on Lostpedia about Lost/Fringe crossovers, and people have added various content to it. Since I am always trying to spot the "Observer" in the Fringe episodes, I tend to forget to look around at other people. I would swear that in "The Transformation," I saw Miles from "Lost" as a passenger on the airplane and seated behind him was Amy Acker who was in several episodes of "Alias." I wonder how many other cameos I have missed? Also, Greg Gruenberg is always in Abrams' shows - why hasn't he been on "Fringe" yet?

"I would swear that in "The Transformation," I saw Miles from "Lost" as a passenger on the airplane ...TOTALLY! I thought I saw Miles as well! I think it prob has to do with Greg being tied up with Heroes production, ya? Do you find this valuable? |

I always thought there were small connections from this show back to Lost and Alias. And since I am a huge fan of both a lot of these I noticed instantly. And I think as time goes there will be more connections some intentional some not. I love looking for them though.

Here's a crossover with Fringe/Alias. Olivia apparently now was used in an experimental drug trial as a child. The effects of which to surface at a later date. She has no memory of this. Sidney Bristow was part of her father's mind control and training experiments as a child. The effects of which definitely surfaced when she began training as an agent. She had no memory of this until undergoing hypnosis. Do you find this valuable? |

I do think that Fringe is a part of Lost or vice-versa. We see the "same" experiments in both series. The island in Lost could a part of that experiment that we frequently see in Fringe. We see Broyles, in Lost , dress the same way, a part of a great company, he recruit people, and seems to have all the questions, but don't say it. We will probably see the beginning of Fringe in the last episodes of Lost. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

i highly doubt fringe is a part of lost. lost's last season is next year, and fring will only be in its second. also, the actor who plays broyles (only not broyles in Lost) has died. he was shot when driving around John Locke. in lost, it's the dharma inishiative (can't spell that =]) but in fringe it's ZFT or Massive Dynamic. so no relation there.I think Abrams just likes adding easter eggs from other shows (like the oceanic ticket) as fun finds for fans. Sort of like in the episode just before the first season finale (sorry I don't know ep numbers) Agent Dunham and Peter Bishop visit that guy in apartment 1701 and he starts spouting star trek references and basically overviews the plot of Abrams' Star Trek movie which opened in theaters 3 days later... Anyone notice in the Pilot, when Olivia goes into Broyles office a set of binders that look amazingly like the Dharma Initiative books on Broyles desk? Broyles says they noticed the pattern 9 months prior, however, during the following episodes this turns out to be completely false and the pattern has been occurring for a long time (decades). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cm7pAI_Lfto&feature=PlayList&p=769E2C7896C64A59&index=0 In episode 2 those Dharma Initiative books are now gone, and Broyles says he hopes they have more success then the last team they put together. As far as I can tell, no other mention to the "last team" is ever made. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FQodWEC45A As for Broyles character's death in Lost as well as Dharma Initiative versus ZFT and Massive Dynamic, insignificant in the Fringe universe as the Observer has stated there is never just one of anything (look at Peter Bishop who died in this reality and was replaced with one from another, or hints that there may be multiple Walters). Also, the new Peter does not like things the old Peter did--Peter telling Walter that he does not like custer and Walter rights this off as non-sense because he always liked it as a child. This seems to indicate the two Peters (one from this reality and the current one originally from another reality are different). This could mean that Massive Dynamic in this reality could be Dharma Initiative in another reality. Finally we know that the pattern is strongest at certain weak points where the multiple universes converge and the pattern seems to spread outwards from the apex. Could the island be one of the first weak points noticed? Is Lost in this universe, one of the alternate universes shown in Fringe where the twin towers are still standing, JFK was not assassinated, and the White House is being rebuilt, or another all together.
