7th Episodes Clues and Questions
Nov 13 2008, 1:22 AM EST
I am getting hooked on Fringe, and tonights episode (sorry, I mean last nights - I just watched it tonight for the first time) was definitely the best so far (I think). Walter was brilliant! I find myself wanting to pause the darn show every five seconds to see if I'm seeing all the clues. It's driving me crazy! I hope the following questions/observations have not been mentioned already. If they have, pardon my "fine grasp of the obvious":* Does anyone else think Walter responds to Broyles the way he does on purpose? I'm thinking his "I had a fruit cocktail once" responses to him are totally on purpose. Perhaps Broyles has the ability to read minds to a degree and Walter is aware of this and tries to confuse Broyles? * What is the painting of in Broyles office? I can't help but to think it's a clue. It's some six-sided dome like building I cant' place. You can see it when Broyles and Olivia are talking the first time before she goes to Germany. * Perhaps my eyes are seeing things they want to, but in the beginning of the episode there is a quick scene where those floating titles appear telling us we're now at Harvard, and they appear over a river and waterway where four people are rowing crew/skull or whatever it's called. I believe there is one person wearing red and three wearing green shirts? * Right before Loeb falls down convulsling in Broyles office, Broyles is going over the report and comments on a "six pound" discrepancy in the load weight of the van that Loeb was investigating. Is there anything in the episodes so far that has been commented on as weighing six pounds? I can't remember how much the Beacon weighed ... * Why did Broyles bring Loeb's wife into the lab during the "dead man" interrogation scene? This seemed like a stupid move, unless he knew that Loeb and his wife were double-dipping. 10 out of 10 found this valuable. Do you?

I have to say that the fruit cocktail comment made me wonder too. It looked so deliberate didn't it? What does the red and green shorts tie too? I am missing something.

I suppose it could have been just a clever reminder of the many clues in Fringe. Or perhaps my mind was playing trix on me! I'd really like to know what that painting in Broyles office is of. Something is telling me it's a clue to something. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

On it there's a "Zeno" logo and thhree circles: 3 greens and one red. What's up with 3 green / one red kayak thing ? 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

You all are amazing noticing these things. I just watched #7 again last night as it repeats on Space Channel here in Canada on Sat. nights. That's nice that you get to see the same episode twice in 1 week, but I never notice all these little things you all are talking about.I did notice just before it goes to commercial that when they show the apple, butterfly or leaf etc. there is a white dot on the side of one of the pictures but it moves each break. I'm trying to figure out if that means anything?? I did think it was weird to allow the wife into Walter's lab when it's suppose to be so top secret. Even saying that the couple was a good friend to Broyle it seems to me that he would never break protocol for friendship~~unless he suspects them already. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Okay, so first, I didn't even know these threads were here...I have some catching up to do. :-) Secondly, as a serious LOST fan, I've come to expect all those tiny clues in every episode. I really like Fringe and I love discussing the episodes. :-) 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

These are some pretty interesting observations. The fruit cocktail comment could possibly just be Walter's common ramblings, although there is something we do not yet know about Broyles. The Fringe producers hinted that there is a reason behind the common occurances of baldness (seen also in the Observer). What I'm guessing is that Broyles is somehow linked to the Observer, and hence, the weird happenings of the Pattern. Just me throw this random theory out there, but perhaps the Beacon caused something to happen to Broyles and the Observer's Hair, giving them BOTH the ability to read minds. As we can remember in Episode 4: The Arrival, I think, the Observer was reading Peter's mind, saying everything Peter would say before he said it. In this, your idea could be quite correct. Both the Observer and Broyles share baldness. Why couldn't they both share the ability to read minds, as you say? I haven't seen that painting yet. I'll have to go check it out. The red and green shirts might have been a hint at the episode to come (The Equation) in which those colors are key factors in the process of quick hypnosis. These could also hint at a big surprise which might arrive around Christmas time? Just guessing. The letter six is appearing quite a lot. Have you seen the six-fingered hand? I forget what else, but the same number was linked to the show. We should keep an eye out for additional occurances of this number. Broyles possibly could not have been responsible for Loeb's wife rushing into the lab. As we know, something was happening to her husband, and she must have been worried. But I will admit, something is very strange about Broyles! Nice observations! I think I will focus on the letter six and odd background clues. Do you find this valuable? |

Has anyone noticed the apple before commercials? It is twin fetuses. Interesting!
