Charlie Francis, just as he seems?

So, Charlie is very complacent about all the weird stuff that Olivia is investigating. He's completely okay with her seeing John. He seems not to be freaked out or skeptical of a human causing all the people to be electricuted in ep 5. I'm just wondering what everyone's take is on him. If John wasn't the agent on the take then could Charlie be the one? Do you find this valuable?

You're absolutely right; I've been pondering what his role really is. While I don't think he's been privied to the same things that Olivia has he does seem rather peachy that these events, which appear to be escalating in a short term, are rather unbelievable. Perhaps he knows more than he's letting on, may be John told him some things about the cases he was investigating. Do you find this valuable?

I'd lay money that he knows more than he should. In 1.05 when they get to Fischer's lab he tells Olivia he's "not going to ask." Why would he say that THERE? He was present when Walter let the pidgeons go. Wouldn't that have been a more oppritune time to wonder what in the world was going on? It just seemed like it was there on principal and not in sincerety. That, and have you noticed how he changes when Olivia's around? Granted we've only seen him w/o her a few times and only for very brief moments but he seems to soften in her presence. I'm wondering if he has a thing for Olivia, knew what John was up to ('cause he's NEVER had a strong reaction to that news) and let things go down the way they did in hopes that something like what happened would happen. Then again, i could be over analyzing. ^_^ Do you find this valuable?

We ALL over analyze from time to time, but with a show so complex, it can't be helped. ;)

I haven't seen Charlie away from Olivia so I can't say. But he is rather gentle with her, which could just mean they're good friends who've been through a lot together. He definitely feels the need to reassure her when she has doubts so it's possible he has a thing for her. With John Scott still in her head, Peter being eligible, and Charlie comforting her this whole thing may turn out to be a crazy love trapezoid.

Talk about having awkward silences! Sheesh, Peter & Charlie would have a hard time competeing with a man only she can see (right now) and that is fueled by whatever her mind can come up with. ^_^

I do LIKE the dynamic with Peter and Olivia though. He really feels like he needs to look after her which is kinda cute. But he doesn't smother her. Even if it ends up as nothing it's a great basis for a strong friendship.

About Charlie, he's getting some strong clearance all of a sudden.
I did'nt think he would be able to get the "Bell is in another universe" meeting.
Remember that Broyles told Olivia in the first episodes that, at the time, she could'nt be told everything.

Wich means that Charlie is now a top agent on the Fringe team.

Good news or bad news... we'll have to wait.
