SPOILER: But enough about the actors, here’s everything you need to know about the rest of Fringe’s season:
  • The mysterious “William Bell” everyone is searching for will turn up in the next few episodes (or have we already seen him?).
  • We will learn that there are multiple “Observers,” (potentially a character we’ve already been introduced to.)
  • Peter Bishop’s mysterious past will come to light by the end of season 1.
  • The writers of Fringe started with the ending of the series and worked back from there. So Fringe does have a planned and definitive end to it.
  • Everyone on the panel will make it to that final episode, “Though they may not look like they do now,” Pinkner added with a smirk.
  • Tuesday’s episode (the opening of which was screened for us) is what Pinkner called “A definite game changer.” It certainly looks that way. Be sure to tune in.
  • EVERYBODY AND THEIR MOTHER WANTS TO SEE ASTRID DO SOMETHING.

SPOILER: Are we ever going to meet Dr. William Bell on Fringe or is he just a red herring? — Rob
MICKEY:
Get ready, Rob! "I can't wait to see who it is, how it's revealed or what he represents or where he comes from," John Noble told us of the identity of his former partner in weird science. I'm hearing Dr. Bell will be ID'd in the finale, but that he might not be formally introduced in his first appearance, which could be sooner. So keep your eyes peeled.

SPOILER: What could you tease about the finale and next season? Acevedo: Well, I'm sure you heard about who might be playing William Bell. Leonard Nimoy, so we pretty much meet William Bell in the finale, which is really cool. Just, you learn a lot more about Massive Dynamic and what's going on with the whole mythology of the show, so it's pretty much more cemented in the final two episodes. Did you get to work with Nimoy? Acevedo: No, it's just Olivia meets him.

SPOILER:
No, Kirk Acevedo has not. He posted he was fired on Facebook, but NOT true says exec producer Roberto Orchi. Peter who hadn't always been too thrilled about helping so far, decides to get his X-files on. "Meghan Markle (who plays Amy Jessup) joins the fold, and she believes the anwer to what's going on is religion," states Kurtman. While Jessup will draw some startling biblical links, it may not be enough/or in time to figure out what's going to happen to Charlie!

DrObvious Episode - The Transformation - Something left the plane! 3 Apr 21 2009, 10:55 PM EDT by Simpleassault

Did anybody happen to notice that while the plane was descending into an obvious crash that something or someone jettisoned out of the plane to the right and made an upward movement that didn't seem to follow the normal path of debris that would come from a plane crash?

byteart17 Singularity (page: 1 2) 21 Feb 26 2009, 6:49 PM EST by arjay999
Thread started: Sep 17 2008, 2:55 PM EDT  Watch
Based on the theories of Raymond Kurzweil, The show takes place at a time when machine has become so advanced it has an intelligence beyond that of man. This time is considered the "event Horizon" or turning point of where machine intelligence gets propelled at an accelerating rate eventually leading to Singularity. Which according to theorists is "the future point of unprecedented technological progress, caused in part by the ability of machines to improve themselves using artificial intelligence."

The experiments that are taking place in the show are those that we as humans could only theorize about or experiment with limitations, but with the advancement of computer technology and inevitable birth of Artificial Intelligence at Massive Dynamic and Dr. William Bell (Dr. Walter Bishops ex lab. partner) at the helm. These experiments are coming to life.

The experiments are only the beginning. Imagine a world where a computer is so intelligent it can recreate its own intelligence exponentially. You've heard the riddle, I'll give you a penny at the beginning of the month and double it every day? A computer that is billions of times greater than any intelligence ever known will happen at such an advanced rate once we have reached that edge or "fringe" and we as humans can only imagine the possibilities of what happens after that if in fact we are even involved in that future.

A direct quote from Nina Sharp, Massive Dynamics COO - "Sufficed to say, that we've reached a point where science and technology have advance at such an exponential rate for so long it may be way beyond our ability to control them"
