I have found at least one hint within a episode that directly corrisponds to the following episode in several episodes so far. I will list what I have so far in no specific order:
1) S01 E11: End of E11-Olivia and niece sleeping in her rez. The book says "Whats That Noise?" S01 E12: Middle of E12-Olivias Niece on Laptop. Virus Msg says "Whats That Noise?" 2) S01 E19:Middle of E19-Conspiracy Nut rez. He says he is Spock. S01 E20:End of E20-W.B. Office.William Bell is Lenard Nemoy who played Spock. Other Annomilies I have sppotted are: S01 E10:Middle of E10-Loebs Van. Liecense Place Says "1R2D21" which kinda looks like the devices they use to teleport. S01 E19:Throughout E19- The Cereal "Berry Boom" Is used several times. So1 E19:1/4 E19-Inside rez of Fire lady. Look at the books. Most If not all are realivant to previous episodes, Maybe even future ones. Thats all i have time for but will be writing more soon :) P.S: Feel free to change, update, edit, correct or add more yourself :) P.P.S: I think i may have a Audio breakthrough in almost every episode. A word, sentence or pharse will be... Differrent. ( more hollow sounding or buzzy ) Im try to piece them together now. More later on that. |

Did anyone else notice this - in ep.9 - The Dreamscape? When Ageny Dunham is searching the house of the guy that jumps through the window of the Massive Dynamic building, she finds an airplane ticket. Notice the name of the airline company? Oceanic!
Also, Lance Reddick (aka Phillip Broyles) is in both series. Coincidence? How cool would it be for both series to be resolved together in the same finale!

After a bit of pondering, I have decided that I believe the fire in the lab in which Walter's lab assistant was killed was most likely associated with the new "firestarter" anomaly. It seems possible that Walter or Bell could have tested a subject, possibly Peter or the girl who died, and then once this capability was realized, a fire was started that burned down the lab.

(FYI: I originally started posting on this site as roystonlodge, but I changed my username to something more "Fringy". Just to avoid confusion.) I'm quite enamoured with the idea that Quantum Mechanics will become an important driver of future story-lines, with the writers making connections between Quantum Mechanics, Fibonacci numbers, and "paranormal" phenomena. So far in the show (AFAIK) I've only seen two (tenuous) references to Quantum Mechanics - Claus Penrose (possibly named after phycisist Roger Penrose) and The Observer (who may be influencing events simply by observing them). Maybe there's a third (tenuous) connection - Could William Bell be named after physicist John Stewart Bell? His work involved pairs of quantum particles that continue to instantly influence each other regardless of how far apart they are from each other, apparently communicating with each other faster than the speed of light. He also objected to the way Quantum Mechanics depends on the concept of 'measurement'. If you combine Fibonacci numbers with the concepts that originate from John S. Bell and also with concepts from Roger Penrose, you start to get really weird questions that make great fodder for a paranormal sci-fi series like "Fringe". Fibonacci numbers and Quantum Mechanics are related in that they explore how "information" can be an observable "thing" (for want of a better term) in the natural world, with implications for stuff like the true nature of human consciousness and free will, paranormal abilities like telepathy, and theories that the universe itself is "intelligent" or "god-like". (FYI: I did REALLY poorly in science class, so much of the info I'm getting is from Wikipedia. I'm not suggesting that quantum physics ACTUALLY explains paranormal phenomana. I'm just speculating on how certain ideas in physics MAY be influencing the Fringe writers.)

I used Google Earth to plot the 5 towns Estherville, Cresco, Carroll, Vinton, and Parkersberg. After drawing a line connecting the first four in the shape of a rectangle (like shown in evidence #03), I then estimated the length of side 'b'. Using the Golden Ratio formula (a+b)/a=a/b I found that it was the makings of a Golden Rectangle, from which you can create a golden spiral.

Near as I can determine, the connection between Parkersburg and the four cities mentioned in clue 3, Cresco, Estherville, Carroll, and Vinton, is that Parkersburg lies at the natural starting point of a Fibonacci's Spiral created within the borders formed by the four cities. That's right, Fibonacci strikes again! This time, with sheep!
My question is, will there ever be any significance to the Fibonacci sequence in the show, or is it just a passing fancy for the creators?

Have you noticed that the hairless guy was on the plane (while Marshall Bowman was going into the lavatory you will notice) and the plane crashed. What happened to him? Any idea? How can he survive? I noticed that while the blackbox record was playing the communication dialog, a kind of noise cut the communication and the man in the communication office said that another plane blocked the transmission. I am suspectful here. With a kind of technology our hairless guy should be teleport from plane and it created an electrical noise that they thought there was another plane. These are my thoughts. Your idea?

I've only watched the first seven episodes so I could be wrong, but there's something going on with eye colors. There are way too many people on this show who have green eyes. Most of the green eyed people are clearly good guys. Most of the blue eyed people are clearly bad guys. There are a few people who have brown eyes, one obviously being Broyles, and there is question whether they are good or bad characters. One exception would be the wife of the agent with the parasite on his heart. She had green eyes, but ended up being in on whatever that agent is up to. Any other thoughts?

NO ONE MENTIONED THE FLOWER, WITH ONE "petal" IS ACTUALLY A DRAGONFLY's WING (Or other insect wing} AND IN THE MIDDLE IS AN INMAGE OF A FLY OR ANOTHER SMALL WINGED INSECT.

I'm wondering: Is there any significance to the substances that Walter chooses to manufacture himself in the lab vs. substances that he asks Peter to procure for him? Presumedly, if he can fabricate drugs like LSD, ketamine, and the anti-psychotic cocktail he makes for himself, surely it wouldn't be difficult for him to make his own root beer, ginger ale, and cotton candy. Obviously, legal foodstuffs are a heck of a lot easier to buy than controlled substances. Still, considering his sense of urgency for satisfying his cravings, you'd think he would find it easier and faster to just make them himself instead of asking Peter to make pitstops to the grocery store while he's out dodging frikkin' bullets and unraveling evil conspiracies. After all, Walter's really got more free time for these sorts of pursuits than Peter has.

in episode 2, Walter starts talking in his sleep, he starts naming off the fibonacci number sequence, 0,1,12,3,5,8,13,21,34,55 he stops and starts agian 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34, he adds 19,17,33,6,110, and either77, or 7,7, In his notes he uses the cursive sign for Phi the greek letter on back of frog. the Fibonacci spiral is on the sea horse, next to 2 formulas, i also think he uses the golden ratio a+b\a=a\b= The cusive greek letter of Phi if u get more into it it looks like this Phi=1+ square root of 5 all over 2= 1.6180339887. Idk know what this means but haha but look for this

Consider this theory, based on the internal logic of the show and not actual real-world physics: Since the Fibonacci numbers seem to control growth processes in nearly all aspects of the physical world, from galaxies to meteorology to biology, it's evidence that the universe itself is somehow "intelligent". But, when you look at those natural growth processes there's always an 'ending' of some sort - the arms of spiral galaxies trail off instead of going on forever - the spiral of a mountain goat's horn also ends at its tip - ditto the spiral of a pinecone or a hurricane. As humanity gets better at 'observing' these processes through Quantum Mechanics, humanity is changing the 'effects' of these processes through our act of 'observing'. By 'measuring' these fundamental laws the universe itself is 'changed'. Once the rate of progress or 'measurement' hits 'critical mass', perhaps with the development of an 'intelligent' Quantum Computer, the 'change' on the universe also accelerates uncontrollably, perhaps catastrophically. The more humanity tries to 'diagnose' the 'problem' ('diagnose' being another way of saying 'observe' or 'measure'), the worse the 'problem' gets. Even if it turns out that Massive Dynamic has a Quantum Computer that is calculating the nature of the universe, it's not really Massive Dynamic's 'fault' since that 'knowledge' was virtually inevitable. The 'culprit' of The Pattern is the human mind's ability to take the Fibonacci/Golden Ratio 'spiral' and conceptualize it infinitely (1.6180339887...), as opposed to every other example in nature where it has an observable finite limit. LONG STORY SHORT: The human mind is a Quantum anomaly that has catastrophic results on the fabric of the universe.

Supposedly, one of the theories on why we humans use Base-10 for our mathematics (0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) is because we have ten fingers.
Since the hand glyph has six fingers on it, I started to wonder what the Fibonacci Sequence is in Base-12 (12 fingers, six on each hand). Here it is. Let's see if THESE numbers ever start to turn up in the show: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 11, 19, 2A, 47, 75, 100, 175, 275, 42A, etc...

After doing some cursory Google research on the Fibonacci sequence in nature, I'm guessing that viewers may be able to predict future plot points by looking at how nature used the sequence and the Golden Ratio. Examples:
- The spiral pattern of galaxies. - The spiral patterns in human fingerprints. - The fibonacci pattern in the reproductive cycles of various species, such as rabbits and bees (hence my choice of avatar at the left there). - The fibonacci spiral in big-ass ocean waves. (Remember the tsunami mentioned in the first episode.) - The curl of animals' fangs and horns. - The growth pattens of seeds and flower blossoms. - The antennae of moths and butterflies. - The patterns of the human brain. - The DNA helix. - The umbilical cord of a fetus. - The cochlea of the human ear. Here's a nifty video that has lots of examples: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P10wGxupVcY While this provides ample opportunities for predicting future plot points, unfortunately (since the fibonacci sequence is SO common in nature) it also provides ample opportunities for viewers to see patterns in the show that are unintentional.

After reading a few of the theories about how The Observer connects Fringe to Quantum Mechanices (i.e. Events are changed when they are observed, etc.), on a whim I Googled "Quantum Mechanics" and "Fibonacci" to see what sort of connections might pop up.
Lo and behold, the name "Roger Penrose" popped up. Roger Penrose is renowned for his work in mathematical physics, in particular his contributions to general relativity and cosmology. He discovered Penrose Tiling, which is closely entwined with the Fibonacci Sequence. He also wrote the book "The Emperor's New Mind" in which he theorizes that human consciousness operates according to the laws of Quantum Mechanics. Reading his Wikipedia entry is quite dizzying: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_penrose Of course, you'll recall that episode two of Fringe featured a character named Claus Penrose, providing another connection to Fringe.
