Major disappointment for Fringe fans may lie ahead (or not). In an interview with the LA Times, Leonard Nimoy (aka William Bell) says that he's not sure that he'll return for more Fringe. "I've done three appearances for them. I don't know if I will do a fourth..." says Nimoy. "They've asked me to do more, but we have to talk about where the character is going."
According to Nimoy, photography is his passion these days. He currently has an exhibition at the Santa Monica Museum of Art, titled Who Do You Think You Are? which is a series of portraits where subjects reveal their secret selves.
Hmmm...I wonder what secrets a portrait of William Bell might reveal...
Get out those carving knives, dear Fringe fans, because Masslive.com shares a great idea for Fringe-o-ween pumpkins! Using the Fringe glyphs, you can carve yourself a pumpkin that even Walter Bishop would be proud of.
Check out this Mr Spock---er, I mean, William Bell Fringe-o-lantern for inspiration.
According to an exclusive interview published by Entertainment Weekly's Hollywood Insider blog the new Promo for FRINGE features a secret!
Word has it you can reveal this easter egg with some clever sound wave viewing. It is supposed to reveal a hidden glyph from the show! How cool is that? - Well it gets even cooler...Trent Reznor of the music group Nine Inch Nails lends his voice to this new promo for FRINGE.
It has also been said not to rule out a guest spot by Reznor on the show according to a comedic comment by exec producer Jeff Pinkner.
Trent Reznor even did this rework of his original Nine Inch Nails song 'Zero-Sum' for free, which isn't so surprising since NIN has given away two albums for free to their fans in the last couple of years. Those of you that like NIN can find free album downloads at NIN's official website here.
Never heard about Nine Inch Nails before? -- Expand your horizons and check them out...they ROCK!
Fringe fans haven't been necessarily pleased with the recent pre-emptings of Fringe by baseball, but on the upside, baseball (along with a killer regular TV lineup) is giving Fox the boost it needed to pull into first place for the season, WAY early on. According to James Hibberd:
In addition to stronger-than-usual baseball playoffs, Fox's fall has been boosted by pushing popular scripted dramas ("Bones," "Fringe") into competitive Thursdays; shifting summer hit "So You Think You Can Dance" into the fall and pairing it with its Wednesday freshman breakout series "Glee," and the network's Sunday night animated block receiving a boost by the new "Family Guy" spinoff "Cleveland."
So, while we've got to wait a few more weeks for the Fringe team to return, baseball is doing great things for Fox, and what's good for Fox in general, is good for Fringe, which is clearly a heavy hitter on the ultra-competitive Thursday night lineup.
With Fringe out on a mini-baseball-hiatus at least through November 5th (see below), now might be the perfect time to catch up on Season 2 of Fringe!
You can view any or all of the first five episodes of Season 2 right here on the Fringe Wiki. FYI, new episodes are posted in our fine collection the day after the episode's original air date, so you can get yourself up-to-date at any time. Beware, however, and enjoy them while you can because (much to our dismay) older shows are eventually removed from the feed.
A Fox faux pas, my Fringe friends. If Earthlings aired last night, it was only in the alternate universe, not ours. A large number of us Fringe die-hards (myself included) waited eagerly for Earthling to air, but little did we know that we'd seen the last of the Fringe Division for at least a few weeks. Despite the fact that Fox.com showed Fringe on tonight's programming schedule, Earthling was in fact preempted by The American League Championship Series between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Next week, expect more of the same, as the World Series preempts Agent Dunham and the Bishops one more time. Fringe may return November 5th, but if World Series #7 is a go, Fringe is a no.
The bottom line: Fringe may return November 5th at the earliest unless it's preempted by World Series #7. We'll keep you up to date as we find out more.
What are the odds that The Observer shows up at the World Series?
From the other side, Sebastian Roche signs on to Fringe
10/22/09
A new face is coming to Fringe. Well, not a new face if you're a General Hospital fan, but definitely new to our favorite series. According to the TV Squad, Sebastian Roche, long-time GH villain has been cast as a soldier from the other side, who's on a mission to collect data to open a "stable door to the other side."
Fringe fans, add your intel on this handsome newcomer here!
The more we see of Fringe, the more questions we have, and recently, TVGuide went straight to the executive producers to find out exactly what's "over there."
A few facts, according to Jeff Pinkner and Joel Wyman:
We've seen "over there" three times before in the Season One finale. (Quick, can you name them before you peek at the full article?)
There are no tricks. Olivia (and we, the audience) will know it when we're "over there."
Two versions of the same person can meet.
The same people in different universes don't necessarily relate.
We don't know for sure that "over here" Walter kidnapped "over there" Peter.
We're going to learn more about Peter's mother this season.
We're going to get more answers about the Observer(s) this season.
In case you missed the latest episode of Fringe, we've got quite a few ways to catch up on the latest all in one place! If time is tight, try reading our episode recap. Or, if you'd rather be an observer and take it all in first hand, you can see the whole episode here. Now that's Dream Logical!
The Observer finally gets his day, or at least his own episode
10/15/09
According to scifiwire.com the mysterious will finally get some well deserved attention. Check out the article to find out if Michael Cerveris has eyebrows and where the Observer buys his stylish suits!
"The Observer has been one of Fringe's most compelling enigmas since he started appearing week to week in hidden, or sometimes obvious, cameos in the hit Fox sci-fi series. Michael Cerveris plays the mysterious bald man in a suit who likes spicy food. Now that he's a regular fixture on Fringe, there's going to be a whole episode that delves into his world."
As a chronic insomniac, I'm already relating to this behind-the-scenes peek at tomorrow night's episode, Dream Logic. "My character faces some difficulties with sleep," says actor Jim Thorburn.
That would be putting it mildly -- catch the video.
So far, Fringe has kept us totally captivated with a series of strange, paranormal events, so will Fringe fans be ready and willing to suck down a relationship on the show? Now, what if we told you that it didn't involve Peter and Olivia? What if we told you that Season 2 might bring introduce us to "Phina" aka Phillip and Nina? Yes, you heard right--Agent Phillip Broyles and Massive Dynamic mogul, Nina Sharp.
With Fringe airing on Thursday nights this season, competition for viewership has been more fierce than ever -- this season, Fringe goes head to head with ABC's Grey's Anatomy and CBS' CSI.
However, thank goodness for a technological innovation that Walter couldn't created better himself -- DVR. Fringe is coming in pretty darn high on DVR ratings with nearly one-third of all fans watching via DVR. You can find a sampling of the DVR ratings for the week of Sept. 14-20th here.
We've seen all kinds of mash-ups but this one was created by Fox as a promo for the Fall shows. It's interesting that Bones, Fringe, Dollhouse, Lie to Me have all had scenes that took place in a strip club. Warning, this might not be office friendly! For bonus points, can you name all the episodes this mash-up pulled from?
Fringe fans, we finally got the momentum we've been waiting for. This most recent episode of Fringe delivered punch after punch, finally revealing some of the long-awaited answers that we Fringies have been dying for.
Though we (think) said goodbye to beloved Agent Charlie Francis (or his body anyway), Olivia finally recounts her conversation with "Willem" Bell, where we finally learn about the upcoming storm.
Leonard Nimoy promises an "intense" scene with Olivia Dunham
10/08/09
Leonard Nimoy tells all about William Bell's return to Fringe this week in an interview with Wired Magazine's Hugh Hart.
“We will learn a lot more about their relationship and we will be told what William Bell’s intentions are, although we’re not sure that everything he says is accurate,” said the Star Trek veteran.
Agent Dunham sans the pantsuit --a different side of Anna Torv
10/06/09
Agent Olivia Dunham is rarely ever seen in anything but Hilary-esque attire, immaculately adorned in what must be government-issue pantsuits, but check out this pre-Fringe promo for an Australian series, "The Secret Life of Us," featuring our dear Anna sans the pant suit!
There's more than meets the eye over on the Fox Official Fringe site. Not all of the yellow dots are equal... There's a message to be found and clues to be followed. Once you've witness the message. Weigh in here. What does that final image signify?
