| | PLOT HOLES, INCONSISTENCIES OR JUST PLAIN IMPOSSIBLE? Add unbelievable incidents or sci-fi faux pas to this list!
| - The real-life town of Stoughton, Massachusetts bears almost no resemblance to the location in the episode. Stoughton is a land-locked community, it does not sit on any waterfront, has no large docks or warehouses, and there is no Sargent Bridge or any large bridges at all.
- The strange orange gel Olivia and Peter found at the hotel crime scene reminds Olivia of a serial killer case she and John Scott had worked on years before. Why were Federal Agents investigating serial killings? Murder isn't a federal offense. (The FBI's Behavioral Profiling Unit often consults on serial killer cases. Also, any serial killer who operates across state lines becomes a federal case.)
- At the end of the episode, the victim of the serial killer goes in to cardiac arrest. on the heart monitor, she's in asystole, an absence of a heart rhythm, what most people would call a flatline.flat-line. it is physiologically impossible to defibrillate a patient in asystole into a normal sinus rhythm (a normal heart rhythm)...the only thing that would save her would be cpr.CPR. only ventricular tachycardia (long, fast waves on the screen) or ventricular fibrillation (crazy, aimless lines everywhere with no pattern whatsoever) could be fixed via defibrillation. You could shock an asystole patient, but nothing will happen. This ruined the show for me. --Unnamed Guest
- The Electric Pulse Camera was supposed to show what the victim was looking at when she was drugged. She was looking at her murderer when she was drugged, she was not looking out the window. (Explanation : Olivia said that it must be ONE of the last things the victim saw, not the last.)
- The aged baby went from what can be assumed to be a normal sized baby to a much larger 'old man', while the old age is somewhat feasible, it is not explained how the baby gained all that extra mass, essentially growing on thin air. This breaks conservation of mass.
- There is no Wallace Bromley Medical Center in Boston. (There's no such company as Massive Dynamics, either. Fictional places are often used for any number of reasons, including to avoid creating associations with real locations.)
- Transporting "secret " documents (as depicted in the beginingbeginnings of the episode) out of secure facilities, to personal residences is prohibited under federal law.
- Investigating the motel room crime scene, neither Dunham or Bishop maintain any proper procedure for collecting evidence or proper attire for collecting evidence (such as booties, etc.)
- There is no "Junior Agent" program within the FBI field office/lab tech program. The only Junior Agent (formerly called Junior G-Man) program is designed for 5th graders.
- When Dunham and Bishop visit Boston College, there are full leafed trees on the campus, implying late spring or early summer. Yet in the earlier scene at the motel there are piles of snow visible in the background, implying the story arc was still squarely at the starting point in the winter.
