UNANSWERED QUESTIONS & PLOT DANGLERS
EPISODE'S BEST QUOTES
  • "Well, let me assure you: we'd be happy to treat you as family, too." - John Scott
  • "I thought you'd be fatter." - Dr. Walter Bishop, first words to Peter in 17 years
  • "You wanted my father, now you've got my father, which falls into the category of 'be careful what you wish for'... sweetheart." - Peter Bishop
  • "Oh! I just pissed myself. Just a squirt." - Dr. Bishop
  • "I need ginger ale. Haven't had some in a long time. Miss it." - Dr. Bishop
  • "The only thing better than a cow is a human. Unless you need milk... then you really need a cow." - Dr. Bishop
  • "Is that a cow?" - Charlie Francis
  • "Excellent, let's make some LSD." - Dr. Bishop
  • "I'm going to count to one... One!" - Peter Bishop
  • "Ask yourself why Broyles sent you to the storage facility." - John Scott to Olivia before he died.
  • "How do we protect people when corporations have higher security clearances than we do? When we're not fully briefed on half the things we're investigating? You know, when the truth... the truth is we're obsolete." - Charlie Francis
  • "And this is a show for children? Surprisingly profound for a narrative about a sponge!" -Walter

OMG! MOMENTS
  • Seeing Nina Sharp escorting John Scott's deceased body down a conspicuous corridor and giving the command to interrogate him.
  • When John Scott got up at the hospital and smothered the Steig twin suspect

  • When the pilot's face melted off.

  • Seeing the cow walking through Harvard.
EPISODE TRIVIA
  • In a possible nod to Lost, Morgan Steig was passenger 108. In Lost, the numbers had to be entered into the computer every 108 minutes.
  • The name of the airline is Glatterflug which translates as "smooth flight."

  • Broyles briefly describes how John Thompson and 46 other kids were reported lost in 1998 and found halfway around the world in 2008 without having aged a day. Another one of these kids was Adam Sears, as described in the Fringe comic book prequel issue.

  • In both the pilot episodes for Lost and Fringe, a pilot dies.

  • On Sunday, Sep. 14, 2008, this episode was broadcast in an "encore presentation," along with the "sneak peek" lead to Episode 1.02.

  • The Observer can be seen outside Massive Dynamic as Olivia pulls up.
PLOT HOLES, INCONSISTENCIES OR JUST PLAIN IMPOSSIBLE?
Add unbelievable incidents or sci-fi faux pas to this list!
  • The "Synaptic Transfer System" grossly oversimplifies the complexity of the brain and its activity. In reality, much more information than brainwaves would be needed to accomplish such a feat; as the name implies, the state of every synapse (of which the human brain has hundreds of trillions) would have to be known.
  • Agent Charlie Francis gets a tip about two suspicious "Middle Eastern" men seen handing off a case to a man in a self-storage yard. The tip comes from "Back Bay PD," however there is no Back Bay PD as the Back Bay is a section of Boston therefore the tip would come from Boston PD.

  • The self storage yard is in Chelsea, Mass. Chelsea, adjacent to Boston, has its own police department. It is incorrect to have a "tip" come in from the non-existent "Back Bay PD," if a tip was to come in, it would be from Chelsea PD.

The only decent thing about the Fringe pilot was Joshua Jackson. The writing was awful. I was annoyed before the half-way point, at all the 'sweeties' and 'honeys' being thrown at the main female character. And she took it. Seriously, can we get past portraying sexism on TV already? And what was with the random geographical bubble text floating around to tell the audience what the setting is?... it felt like a touch of the kid's show 'Word World' and threw me off the flow of the scene. And one day the insane Dr. is a babbling nut case, and within 24 hours he's lucid and speaking as if he's keynote speaker at a medical conference. Then the sexist lead FBI guy is suddenly giving the female liaison he victimized throughout the show kudos and offering her a job at the end?? Bad. Just bad. I won't be giving it another chance. Don't waste your time.

The Pearl Auto System is Desighned by Massive Dynamic. Check this link that goes to their website:
http://massivedynamic.com/aerospace_and_transportation.php

Why the name Pearl? possible relation to "the Pearl station" by the Dharma Group?

Also doesn't the reference to Children vanishing for a period of time and the reapearing Half way across the world with out aging a day sound a lot like something out off Lost?
(Lost Spoiler Warning)

Consider these Facts:

- "The Others" Take children and do series of test on them.

- The Island is constantly moving.

- Time moves at a different speed on the Island.

- When Ben Linus "moved' The Island, He was Transported Off the Island 5 years into the future Into the Middle of the Desert.

- The Island Moves around in time.

-Time Tavel. Space time Continuem.

- The Dharma Initiative could be an Umbrella Co-operation of Massive Dynamic, where they "Test" their experiments.

- So far the number 47 and 108 have been mentioned on Fringe.

- the Year on the Island is 2004. The Plane Crashed on Sept 22, 2004. The Survivers Stayed on the Island for 70 odd days.

- The Oceanic 6 have been off he Island for 3 years making it 2007

- The first reported incident of "The Pattern" occured on Dec. 22, 2007.

Does anyone know what is the instrumental music near the end of the episode, when Olivia et al are outside Harvard. The music starts right after Walter says 'Are we leaving'?
