Though Of Human Action was an episode worthy of water cooler gab, as we learned more about Massive Dynamic and their so-called research, the thing that got me the most excited about the episode was clearly the preview for next week's episode, August. In case you missed it the preview, check out the trailer here: http://fringewiki.fox.com/page/Fringe+BlogPlease observe that the Observer does more than observe. August may very well be an episode of the same insightful caliber as Momentum Deferred. Any theories on what next week might hold? WARNING: SPOILERS MAY FOLLOW!

Awsome two minute sneak peak at thursday's episode!! i can't wait for it! i actually almost squeed... and i don't squee. at all. lol.
I didn't catch Brandon, but that must mean that all the seamingly stand alone episodes from season two so far actually had an overarching purpose! please bring ZFT back... or at least mention it! I like the Cortexiphan subject theory... maybe the August Observer is protecting her from MD?

We know there are supposed to be an infinate number of universes. We also know that if 2 universes "collide" only one will be left standing. What if the Observer(s) come from a universe where this has already happened? Having already seen the pattern play itself out, they would know what to look for to be where ever these events occure.
An even scarier possiblity is that the observers themselves started this whole mess and are takeing notes as a sort of science project to see what happens when two realities collide.

Observer cameos have slowed dramatically in season two as Cerveris has other obligations on Broadway about 3,000 miles away from where Fringe shoots in Vancouver, Canada. To compensate, the writers make sure to get the most out of Cerveris when he can head out west so they have developed an entire episode around the character and, as we'll soon discover, others like him.
Some more details about the Observer are revealed in an exclusive interview with Cerveris over at Sci Fi Wire. Some of their remarks are speculative but you'll walk away with a better idea of how the Observer will be used in upcoming season two episodes.
Read the complete Michael Cerveris feature at Sci Fi Wire.

"I´m not sure ,but he´s a very good relationship with Walter since a long time ago,the question is why?" For some reason shape shifting (killing someone, crushing your face, shoving some device in their mouth and your own) seems too... aggressive for my view of the Observer. They're more passive, watching but not interacting. The relationship probably comes from the Observer saving their lives and maybe a few other strange interactions.

So, what language is the observer writing in? Does it resemble anything real or previously made up by someone else?
I know some languages go right-to left, does it look like any of those?
Here's an example from eastereggs.fringetelevision.com: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_YPCf8JFgUdI/SOOmwvz5b9I/AAAAAAAAH0M/633w7E-DERQ/s1600/observer1.jpg
...and with all the technology out there, why a little black book w/ pen & paper?
Why not some handheld... a Blackberry, or an iPhone... or a video camera? Or would this be an indicator of him visiting different times & not seeming out of place... like the "men in black"?
What's he writing?

Yeah, it isn't quite Hebrew, but it is written backwards.
I looked up divine languages, old alphabets, fictional alphabets, several foreign alphabets, runic alphabets, shorthand, and even saw a site with alchemy symbols saying that's mostly what they looked like... But nothing's quite a match.
Perhaps it's been created for the show?
If so, I want the *.ttf file! Ha ha ha.
And, perhaps the notebook is indeed more than just a notebook! Don't know why I dinn't think of that.

Is the Observer from the alternate reality? Where is he from? Some say space, but now we have this introduction of the concept of the battle of the realities...

RE: New observer question
By: ,

"Another thought just to throw out there for discussion and speculation sake:
What if these Observers are human from the future (who had lost the 'War' between the two universe and therefore were forced to hide in conceal chambers, resulting in their paleness and baldness.)
They have now find a way to travel back through time, in order to help the 'Warriors' (remember Jones is recruiting Olivia to become one) to win the war, therefore altering the final outcome.
Although, I've always had issues with time travelling 'cause it can easily leads to multiple endless loops ..... one can go back again and again to change the outcome of things!" There is also a theory by Michio Kaku on Youtube about Time Travel, Parallel Universes, and Alternate Reality. It's a very interesting theory that would explains or open a huge discussion regarding the observer. Check this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnkE2yQPw6s Enjoy... =)

I stand firmly beside my theory that September, the Observer, is from an alternate reality, perhaps the same alternate reality as Peter.

Today's Theory:
Just a theory mind you, but it's entirely possible that September is simply... Observing how these Pattern events unfold.
I know, it's a deep theory. But consider:
If September is, in fact, from an alternate reality, which is, "similar to our own, but with little differences", then it stands to reason that they have their own Pattern events unfolding there, and in an effort to understand them, September is Observing how they unfold in our reality, thus gaining some measure of understanding how these events will impact their reality.
This could well explain his need to stay uninvolved, or as uninvolved as possible, to not change the outcome of the event (a la Schrodinger's Cat).
It also stands to reason, that there has been some determination of the importance of the Bishops, thus making it necessary for September to have involved himself to some degree in their lives, though this involvement still requires special handling, as noted by his remark in There's More Than One of Everything about having "said too much already.".
