Robert Bishop has to be Walters Father and Peters Grandfather because of his age. Robert Bishop had died a year before Walters birth; it is possible for Walter Bishop to be the son of Robert Bishop. Its possible that Walter never saw his Father and cloned him and the result of the cloning was Peter. That might be the reason why we know very little about Peters mother. Maybe he doesn't have a real mother, maybe he only had a incubative mother. Some one who had signed up for Government research projects. That would mean that Walter is Peters father but Peter is also Walters Father genetically speaking.

Walter is the son of Peter and Peter the son of Walter think about that entitlement.
